16 Ans – IFI French Foreign Film for Senior Cycle Students
16 Ans (Sixteen) is a special screening for senior cycle students studying French as a foreign language (French with English subtitles).
Classmates Nora and Leo fall in love at school, but their romance faces intense opposition from their parents and family. Despite the different familial backgrounds and beliefs the pair continue their romance undercover. This contemporary retelling of Romeo & Juliet focusing on opposing societal hierarchies rather than duelling families brings a gripping engaging film for older teens.
Director: Philippe Lioret. This screening is presented in association with IFI Education. A FREE detailed Study Guide is available at ifi.ie/studyguides from the beginning of November.
Part of Think Languages Week 27th November to 1st December 2023.
