Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat 

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s multi award-winning show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has been performed hundreds of thousands of times including multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway, international tours in over 80 countries worldwide and has become one of the world’s most beloved family musicals.

Featuring much loved pop and musical theatre classics, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, There’s One More Angel In Heaven and Go, Go, Go Joseph. Don’t miss this summer spectacle full of music, dance, fabulous costumes and of course…that famous coat of many colours!

The talented cast and chorus from across the county are enjoying the rehearsals with award winning director Oliver Hurley, vocal coach and Choral Director for Killarney’s ‘Stronger Together Choir’ Sorcha O’Connor, and professional dancer/teacher Justin Walsh.

Cast Announcement:

  • Potipher: Padraig Harrington from Tralee plays the character of Potipher, Captain of Pharaoh’s Guard who purchased Joseph as a slave, impressed by his intelligence, he makes Joseph master of the household. Padraig says Potipher is a great character to play and describes his scene as ‘absolutely hilarious’. Padraig describes the show as ‘absolutely amazing’ and says that everyone involved is ‘amazingly talented’. He has been involved in shows in Siamsa Tíre for many years. Playing the character Potipher, he is absolutely loving bringing this character to life. This is one of his favourite shows he has ever been involved in and he can’t wait to perform in front of the great audience of Tralee!
  • Mrs Potipher: Caoimhe Scanlon from Currow plays the part of Potipher’s wife who takes a liking to Joseph and makes several failed attempts to seduce him. Caoimhe is involved with Killarney Musical Society and says she ‘loves doing this’ and thought the show would be a great way to spend the summer and meet new people. Caoimhe began performing in primary school, where she was a member of the Currow Drama Club, run by local parents and amazing people such as Fiona Crowley and Tim Landers. In 2018, she began singing lessons with Sorcha O’Connor in Currow, where she found a real love for and connection to musical theatre. Currently attending Presentation Secondary School Castleisland, she is involved in all sorts of music, such as the school choir. She is also a member of the Killarney Musical Society, performing in the amazing INEC Killarney, where they recently performed Michael Collins A Musical Drama.
