A Wave of Change Exhibition & Online Fundraising Auction

2nd July - 2nd Aug 2024

A Wave of Change’ explores the connections that exist between the human experience and nature. Creative expression of powerful feelings, emotional responses, and processing thoughts as we observe and interact with natural blue and green spaces around us through this exhibition of art mirrors the purposeful therapeutic capacity of adventure therapy.New Wave Wild Project is a non-profit clinical adventure therapy service based in Camp, Co. Kerry.

This year, we are aiming to remove barriers of access to great therapy for young people and families by increasing awareness about our approach, and raising funds to support early intervention adventure therapy.Our initiative, ‘A Wave of Change’, aims to find creative ways to remove those barriers and our art exhibition and auction at the Siamsa Tire is one of the exciting events to support this work. Over 50 artists from all over Ireland have donated pieces inspired by ‘A Wave of Change’.

Exhibition takes place in the Gallery at Siamsa Tíre from 2nd July - 2nd Aug 2024.

Auction bidding ends 26th July and takes place online, click on the image to view and bid.

Siamsa Tíre’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2022,  we take a look back at how we kept creativity and the traditional arts alive online during the Covid lockdowns – enjoy traditional Irish music, song and dance performed by cast of the National Folk Theatre of Ireland.

Trad Connections – Featuring 3 On The Bund

Join us once again for Trad Connections with the fantastic 3 on the Bund! Hosted by Aisling Clarke and featuring special guest Roísín Ryan, relax, sit back and enjoy the music.

Trad Connections – Nicky McAuliffe

Nicky and Anne McAuliffe and Mike O’Shea dropped in for a few tunes and a chat about their early days and time with Siamsa Tíre. They reminisce about their performances and tours over many years. They are also joined by some current Siamsa Tíre musicians for a tune and also by some training academy music students who are the future of the National Folk Theatre. Nicky still teaches in the National Folk Theatre Training Academy.

Virtual Exhibition

Siamsa Tíre’s first online exhibition, Ciorcal Iomláin by INHOUSE, is now avaliable for you to enjoy right up to 30th April 2021.  This exhibition represents a feast of creativity with a collection of fine art, photography, ceramics, contemporary installation, woolcraft, felting and weaving, all created over the last number of years by Kerry artists group ‘INHOUSE’.

Conor O’Sullivan & Conor Moriarty take the Siamsa Tíre stage to perform some of their favourite traditional Irish music tracks.

Live from the Siamsa Tíre stage in October 2020, Greta Curtin on concertina, Jessie Healy on fiddle and Darragh Horan on guitar, play some of their favourite tunes.

The Blackbird – National Folk Theatre Community Cast

Celebrating 30 years of the world famous ‘Blackbird’, members of the National Folk Theatre, past and present, have come together while staying apart to showcase this unique traditional Irish music and dance piece.

An Ghaoth Aniar

An Ghaoth Aniar (The Wind from the West) premiered in the Siamsa Tíre theatre on August 22nd 2018. The featured clip from September of 2020, Ón Farraige – from the Ocean, combines the sounds of the wild west coast with the best of traditional Irish music and dance.
