The list below is arranged in approximate order of your Siamsa Tíre Theatre experience, starting with purchasing your tickets and walking you through your visit to the theatre. Please scroll through the list to search for your particular question.
Ticketing
How do I purchase a ticket for a show?
All of our events are available to purchase 24/7 online at www.siamsatire.com/events. Upon purchasing, you will receive your tickets via email. Alternatively, you can purchase tickets directly by visiting in person or telephoning 066-7123055 during opening hours.
Can I choose which seats I sit in?
Yes, for theatre performances, you will be shown a seating plan of our 350-seat theatre and given the option to choose your preferred available seats when booking. You can also view our Seating Plan.
How do I access my digital ticket?
Your digital ticket will be emailed directly to the email address you provided during the booking process, therefore it is important that the correct email address is provided. Please check your spam or contact box office in the unlikely event that your tickets are not delivered. Our staff will scan your tickets directly from your phone upon entering the show.
Can I print my tickets at home?
As Ireland’s first Green certified theatre, sustainability is at the core of everything we do which is why we encourage you to use digital tickets, but you are welcome to print your tickets at home if this is your preference, please ensure the QR code is visible and clear.
Do you have ticket discounts?
Yes, for certain performances concession tickets may be available to children, students, families, groups, retired, unwaged, and those with additional needs and their carers. When available, concession prices will be listed on the event and booking pages, simply select the type of ticket you require and complete the booking process as normal. Those booking concession tickets may be asked for proof of eligibility.
Is there a booking fee?
Yes, due to rising costs a €1.50 booking fee now applies per ticket booked online, at the box office, or, on the phone. This is non-refundable and the ticket fee does not apply to free events.
If I cannot attend my show, can I get a refund or exchange?
We regret tickets may not be exchanged or refunded after purchase unless the performance has been cancelled or rescheduled. For events which are sold out, we can ‘sell on’ unwanted tickets on the day of a performance on behalf of the customer.
What should I do if I've misplaced my tickets?
Most of our tickets are delivered digitally to the email address provided during booking, please do not delete this email and it will allow you to download the ticket at any time. If you have any difficulties or have misplaced your printed tickets, please contact our Box Office and they can assist you.
Are your shows appropriate for children?
Siamsa Tíre is a family venue with lots of children’s events scheduled throughout the year. Due to our vast range of events, some shows may not be suitable for young children, in this case, the suitability age and any trigger warnings will be listed on the event page. If you have a question about show content, feel free to contact our Box Office.

Vouchers
Can I buy a gift voucher?
Yes, gift vouchers can be purchased online on our Gift Voucher page or via our Box Office and have no expiry date. They can be used to purchase tickets for any of our programmed live and online events by selecting the ‘Book Now’ option of the preferred event and entering the voucher code when prompted.
How do I use my gift voucher?
It’s easy! Simply use your voucher redemption code at the payment stage of your booking.
Schools
Do you take school bookings?
Yes. Throughout the school term, we have dedicated school performances for both primary and secondary schools, including theatre, film, talks and Irish language performances. Some are tailored specifically for Junior and Leaving Certificate Cycle students and offer accompanying study guides. Schools can also avail of a building tour or view our latest Art Gallery exhibition during their visit.

Where is the theatre located?

What are the box office hours?
You can view our most up-to-date box office hours HERE. On the evenings where a performance is scheduled for the theatre, the Box Office will remain open until 7.30pm for general and phone bookings, and until 7.50pm for ‘in person’ tickets for that nights’ performance.
Is the theatre open at Christmas?
Yes, of course! Christmas is a magical time in Tralee and you will find a wonderful range of music, comedy and theatre on offer at Siamsa Tíre including the famous Christmas Panto!
Families can also discover the traditions of an Irish Christmas at Siamsa na Nollag and be part of a memorable festive family experience at Siamsa Tíre. There’s no better place to bring your family to meet Daidí na Nollag in his very own Christmas cottage. Is the theatre air conditioned/heated?
Yes, we all know how unpredictable the Irish weather can be, Siamsa Tíre theatre has both air conditioning and heating facilities.
Are there restaurants near the theatre?
Yes, there are an abundance of hotels, restaurants, cafes and bars close to Siamsa Tíre. Why not treat yourself to a pre-theatre meal in advance of your event? We’ve put together details on some of the local restaurants and pubs which might help to point you in the right direction. Just let them know you are attending a performance at Siamsa Tíre and they will make sure you receive speedy service to make the performance on time. Enjoy! Is there accommodation near the theatre?
Yes, there’s plenty of accommodation on offer in Tralee, from hotels and B&Bs to hostels and camping. Visit our Accommodation page for more information.
Are there any other activities near the theatre?

Upon Arrival
What time should I arrive at the theatre?
We recommend that you arrive at least 15mins before the show commences. We operate an early entry service for any of our customers who would like to enter the auditorium before we open the doors for the main audience. Please identify yourself at Box Office at least 30 minutes before the show and the Duty Manager can arrange this. On booking your ticket, our Box Office can reserve seating close to the theatre entrance, for those who are less able to stand waiting in the lobby area. What if I am late for the show?
Latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance as advised by the incoming Company Manager.
Where can I park?
Kerry County Council parking is available on Princes Street beside Siamsa Tíre – check (Kerry County Council – Home | Facebook) for any restrictions. It is free after 6pm. It has access for bus parking and also disability parking just outside the theatre.
Can I smoke or vape inside the theatre?
No, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited anywhere inside Siamsa Tíre Theatre.
Can I take photographs or record the show?
No, use of photography or recording devices are not permitted in the theatre during the performance.
Are there refreshments available at the theatre?
Yes, you can enjoy a coffee, snack or beverage during your visit at our Theatre Bar, located in the lobby. The bar is open one hour prior to the show and at intermission. You can also pre-order your snacks & drinks to skip the bar queues! View our Bar Menu.
Is show merchandise available to purchase?
Yes, Siamsa Tire’s gift shop has a wonderful array of show souvenirs and merchandise. The gift shop is open one hour prior to mainstage performances, at intermission and after the show. Some performers will also sell their own event programmes and merchandise during the show. View our online Gift Shop.
Accessability
Can I bring my guide dog?
Yes, guide/assistance dogs are welcome at Siamsa Tire. Please note that if your guide/assistance dog is accompanying you to one of our performances that you need to book your seats via the Box Office so they can allocate appropriate seating. If these seats are not available when you are trying to book online, please contact our Box Office.
Are there facilities for the hard-of-hearing/deaf?
Our theatre space was the first theatre in Ireland to include a hearing loop system when it was first built. Please switch your hearing device to the T position in order to use the system.
Sign language interpreted performances are indicated on the event listing online and in the printed brochure when programmed.
Is there loud music and strobe lighting?
Strobe lighting, lighting that produces stroboscopic effects, smoke machines and other theatrical effects may be used during some of our shows. If you are affected by any of these effects, please contact the Box Office in advance of purchasing your tickets and we can advise you if they are being used.
Our Christmas experience Siamsa na Nollag offers dedicated sensory hours for families with sensitivities to sound and lights.
Do you offer Relaxed Performances?
Yes, we are continuously working towards making Siamsa Tíre accessible for all.

Some of our theatre events may also offer a Relaxed Performance option, these will be listed on our Events Page when available.
What is a Relaxed Performance?
Everyone is welcome to attend a Relaxed Performance option but the performance is specifically designed to welcome people who will benefit from a more relaxed atmosphere.
We have taken a number of steps to adapt the theatre environment to make the theatre experience more accessible for everyone:
- We will open doors 45 minutes prior to the performance start time for audience members who would like to become familiar with their surroundings before the performance starts.
- Our Technical team adjust the sound and lighting to reduce sensory stimuli to ensure the performance is comfortable for all.
- Strobe and flash lighting will be removed.
- Loud/unexpected sound effects will be removed from the performance.
- House lights will remain on at a lower level throughout the performance.
- Audience members are free to walk in and out of the auditorium as they need to.
- Audience members are welcome to bring sensory tools.
- We have put together a Visit Preparation Document which gives detail of what you can expect once you arrive at Siamsa Tíre.
- If you would like to speak to a member of the team about your booking or if you do need further information, please contact our Box Office and they will be delighted to assist you.
Is the theatre wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the building is easily accessible from the Brandon Car Park where it has disability parking at the entrance from the car park to the building. All public areas of the building are accessible by wheelchair users, including the gallery space and toilets, there are also wheelchair spaces are available in the theatre. Please inform the Box Office when you book your tickets, and they will be happy to advise you on suitable seating.
Is Siamsa Tíre suitable for babies?
Yes, we have many events which take place for young babies and their parents/guardians throughout the year including our brand new Siamsa na Nollaig Santa experience.
Baby changing facilities are located in our accessible toilet.
Please note that buggies, pushchairs and child carrier seats are not permitted in the auditorium for health and safety reasons. We can store your buggy, pushchair or carrier seat in our foyer area. There will be a member of staff in the foyer at all times.

Siamsa Tíre is a registered charity. The staff, community cast and Training Academy students appreciate any additional supports you can give. You can donate any amount during your booking process or via our Donation Page.

How do I become a volunteer?
We regularly recruit for volunteers to lend a hand with various aspects of running our theatre and arts centre. Our partners Volunteer Kerry help us with this process.
