Free Bilingual Theatre Workshops Announced for Young People
Ag Samhlú tSaoil Eile | Imagining An Other World
Scaoilte Theatre are ar bís to announce that they will be leading a new participatory programme for young people at Siamsa Tíre in collaboration with the Lasta Festival: Ag Samhlú tSaoil Eile | Imagining An Other World
Conas a labhraíonn friotal agus scéalta faoin Saol Eile dúinn i ngéarchéim comhshaoil? | How can language and stories about the Otherworld speak to us in an environmental crisis?
Ag Samhlú tSaoil Eile is a series of bilingual theatre workshops for young people aged 16-24. The free programme invites young people to explore how Irish language and stories about the supernatural Otherworld speaks to our relationship with nature, and consider how their creativity can respond to a time of climate and biodiversity crisis.
Participants will use theatre methods across three workshops to reawaken these words and stories, and to use them to create their own stories of ‘Other worlds’ where we live in tune with our ecosystems. Participants’ work will be shared in an installation as part of the Lasta Festival 2026.All levels of familiarity with Irish and theatre welcome! https://www.scaoilte.com/
