TANGENT is an idea-generation workshop for creatives of all kinds (especially if you don’t call yourself one!). It aims to create the kind of welcoming, embodied space that many creatives are missing – one that simply allows ideas to emerge before they’re evaluated. Through chosen themes, mindfulness exercises, creative prompts, play and conversation starters, you are invited to come out of the mind and into the body, soothe and distract that inner critic, and meet with the part of you who is naturally creative and curious. What, and who, can we find when we really pay attention?

You are invited to engage in the prompts in whichever way you choose; this might look like chatting to a new face across the table to get inspired, or quietly writing/drawing in your journal. It might be jotting down words and phrases that catch your ear for a future creative project, or doodling. You won’t be asked to share what you write unless you wish to do so. We hope you leave this workshop feeling inspired, connected to community, and creatively nourished – carrying ideas that feel more likely to take root and come to fruition. Just bring a journal, and a pen – the rest is up to you!
