Accessibility
Siamsa Tire was originally built to ensure accessibility to all. Siamsa Tire was custom built 30 years ago as the Home of the National Folk Theatre and with the community it serves in mind.
To make an accessibility booking or enquiry please call our Box Office directly on (066) 7123055. If we are unavailable to take your call, please leave a voicemail or send an email to boxoffice@siamsatire.com.
Access
The building is easily accessible from the Brandon Car Park where it has Disability Parking at the entrance from the car park to the building. The centre itself is fully accessible with ground level access from the entrance through to the foyer, theatre bar and music room and ramps into the Visual Arts Gallery and theatre. Ramps also continue back stage if required. If you or a member of your group requires access to a wheelchair we do have one on site.
Accessible Seating
The main auditorium has the facility for 3 wheelchair spaces in row O, which is fully accessible via a seamless ramp from the foyer. If you are making a group booking which requires more than 3 wheelchair spaces, please contact our Box Office as soon as possible as additional space may be possible depending on the type of performance you plan to attend.
If you wish to book accessible seating, please contact the Box Office as much in advance of the show as possible. Please advise the Box Office staff of all of your requirements when booking and we can see if we can accommodate these requests.
Accessible Toilet Facilities
Our theatre has accessible toilet facilities in the foyer area to the left of the Theatre Bar.
Our accessible toilet is fitted with an alarmed Red Cord. If any customer requires assistance in the toilet, they can pull this cord and it will emit a small beep that will alert staff. This cord should always be left hanging freely to the floor. If you notice that it has been moved, please inform a member of staff immediately.
Loop System
Our theatre space was the first theatre in Ireland to include a hearing loop system when it was first built. Please switch your hearing device to the T position in order to use the system.
Use of Strobe Lighting / Stroboscopic Lighting and Other Stage Effects
Strobe lighting, lighting that produces stroboscopic effects, smoke machines and other theatrical effects may be used during some of our shows. If you are affected by any of these effects, please contact the Box Office in advance of purchasing your tickets and we can advise you if they are being used.
Concession Tickets
We at Siamsa Tire recognise and acknowledge people’s differences and support them with their individual needs. Concession tickets may be available on certain performances for those with additional needs and for their carers if they need assistance. Please contact Box Office on 066 7123055 for more information.
Early Entry and Courtesy Seating Area
We operate an early entry service for any of our customers who would like to enter the auditorium before we open the doors for the main audience. Please identify yourself at Box Office at least 30 minutes before the show and the Duty Manager can arrange this. On booking your ticket, our Box Office can reserve seating close to the theatre entrance, for those who are less able to stand waiting in the lobby area.
Baby Changing Facilities
There is a baby changing fold down table located in our accessible toilet facilities.
Buggies, Pushchairs & Carrier Seats
Please note that buggies, pushchairs and child carrier seats are not permitted in the auditorium for health and safety reasons. We can store your buggy, pushchair or carrier seat in our foyer area. There will be a member of staff in the foyer at all times.
Fire Evacuation
If you have any questions about our fire evacuation procedure that may relate to any accessible needs, please contact our Box Office on 066 7123055, or email boxoffice@siamsatire.com. You can also ask a member of staff when you are in the venue.
