The Greatest Showman: Sing-Along Movie for all the Family, part of Lasta Festival 2024.

Ladies and gents, this is the moment you’ve waited for…The world is singing along with the most entertaining movie of the year and now you can too with this special sing-a-long screening of The Greatest Showman, the Golden Globe winner for Best Original Song. It’s your time to shine – have fun, sing loud and ‘Come Alive’ – It’s Showtime!

Step right up and into the spellbinding imagination of a man who set out to reveal that life itself can be the most thrilling show of all. Inspired by the legend and ambitions of America’s original pop-culture impresario, P.T. Barnum, comes an inspirational rags-to-riches tale of a brash dreamer who rose from nothing to prove that anything you can envision is possible and that everyone, no matter how invisible, has a stupendous story worthy of a world-class spectacle.

In a series of whimsical and colorful musical numbers, Greatest Showman brings the menagerie of P.T. Barnum’s traveling three-ring circus to life on the big screen. The musical biopic was inspired by the imagination and innovation of Phineas Taylor Barnum, who “helped invent show business,” according to Hugh Jackman. Loosely based on the real-life visionary, the film shows how Barnum (Jackman), a family man, turned his misfortune into a world of mystique and magic that would become the “Greatest Show on Earth.”

Lasta 2024

Young Curators’ Festival 2024: A National Arts Festival by Young People for Young People which takes place between Tuesday 4th – Sunday 9th June 2024.

The Lasta Festival, based on a project originally conceived and delivered by Backstage Theatre in Longford and now in its third year, has blossomed to include venues and individual curators nationwide, and an expanding programme of exciting, multidisciplinary work.  In an innovative and exciting approach to programming, 19 young curators have been engaged by seven regional venues to programme a festival of work for young people nationwide.

Under the guidance of theatre artist Maisie Lee, these young people will work collaboratively to deliver an ambitious line up of work.  Featuring multiple disciplines and reflecting the diversity of modern Ireland, this festival offers a unique opportunity to develop our future arts programmers and producers. The line-up for this year’s festival will feature theatre, music, comedy, dance, film, photography and experiential moments promising a fresh, fun, and exciting festival.
