A Wave of Change
A Wave of Change fundraising Art Exhibition and Auction
by New Wave Wild Project 2nd July - 2nd Aug 2024
A Wave of Change’ explored the connections that exist between the human experience and nature.
Creative expression of powerful feelings, emotional responses, and processing thoughts as we observe and interact with natural blue and green spaces around us through this exhibition of art mirrors the purposeful therapeutic capacity of adventure therapy.
New Wave Wild Project is a non-profit clinical adventure therapy service based in Camp, Co. Kerry. In 2024, they aimed to remove barriers of access to great therapy for young people and families by increasing awareness about their approach, and raising funds to support early intervention adventure therapy.
Their initiative, ‘A Wave of Change’, aimed to find creative ways to remove those barriers and the art exhibition and auction at Siamsa Tire was one of the exciting events to support this work. Over 50 artists from all over Ireland donated pieces including paintings, photography, sculpture and woodwork inspired by the theme ‘A Wave of Change’.
The exhibition took place at the Gallery in Siamsa Tíre from 2nd July-2nd Aug 2024 and had wonderful feedback from visitors and artists. Auction bidding ended on 26th July and took place online via Galabid, it raised over €10,000 for this great cause.
The exhibition was officially opened on Tues 2nd July 2024 @6pm with guest speakers: Cllr Mikey Sheehy, June Curtin & Artist Aia Leu-Allin. The exhibition was free to enjoy during opening hours. No booking is required to view our exhibitions.
