In association with Creative Ireland and Kerry County Council, the National Folk Theatre Training Academy provided Traditional Arts Workshops on Saturday 13th June 2020 as part of the programme for Cruinnuí na nÓg 2020. Siamsa Tíre offered free online one-to-one classes with its expert tutors and performers in the National Folk Theatre of Ireland. Open to all, from beginners to the most experienced singers, dancers, and musicians, the online workshops received great interest and were completely booked out with each candidate enjoying a 20 minute one-to-one video session to introduce them to a traditional artform of their choice or to help them brush up on their existing skills.

Jonathan Kelliher, Artistic Director commented “The event was a great success with very positive feedback from the children and parents involved. This is the first time we have used technology in this way to facilitate workshops or training and with the interest we received we will be looking at how we can use it to support our Training Academy activities in the future, so watch this space!”
